WINNIPEG — Brady Tkachuk scored the tiebreaking goal with nine seconds remaining, and the Ottawa Senators ended a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets at Bell MTS Place on Saturday.
Tkachuk deflected a shot by Mike Reilly after a giveaway by Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
Evgenii Dadonov scored for Ottawa (3-12-1), and Marcus Hogberg made 30 saves.
Mark Scheifele scored for the Jets (8-5-1), and Hellebuyck made 27 saves.
Scheifele made it 1-0 at 5:43 of the second period to extend his point streak to six games (eight points; three goals, five assists). He has at least one point in 12 of 14 games this season, including 2 assists in a 5-1 win against Ottawa on Thursday.
Dadonov scored less than two minutes later to tie it 1-1 at 7:29.
Senators goalie Matt Murray did not play because of an upper-body injury.
Prior to the game, the Senators acquired forward Ryan Dzingel in a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes for forwards Cedric Paquette and Alex Galchenyuk.
