Stars score four in second period in victory against Blue Jackets

The Dallas Stars scored four goals in the second period, including two in 20 seconds in a 5-1 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday.

Five players each had a goal and an assist, and Jake Oettinger made 21 saves for the Stars (17-14-12), who are 4-0-2 in the past six games.

Vladislav Gavrikov scored for the Blue Jackets (15-22-9), who have lost five straight and 12 of 14, including 4-1 here Thursday.

Joonas Korpisalo allowed four goals on 16 shots in 33:34 before being pulled for Elvis Merzlikins, who made 15 saves.

Denis Gurianov gave Dallas a 2-1 lead at 10:10 of the second with his third goal in two games.

Joe Pavelski made it 3-1 at 13:14, John Klingberg extended the lead to 4-1 20 seconds later, at 13:34, and Esa Lindell capped the outburst at 16:40 for a 5-1 lead.

Gavrikov scored his first goal in 39 games to give Columbus a 1-0 lead at 6:06 of the first period.

Jamie Benn tied it 1-1 at 12:35, his ninth goal of the season. John Klingberg sent a bouncing puck to Korpisalo, who sent the rebound directly to Benn.
