Jason Robertson scored two goals when the Dallas Stars defeated the Florida Panthers 4-1 at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday.
Anton Khudobin made 20 saves for the Stars (15-14-10), who have won four of six (4-2-0).
Aleksander Barkov scored for the Panthers (26-12-4), who have lost three in a row. The Panthers had three goals in those three games, all scored by Barkov. Sergei Bobrovsky made 16 saves.
Dallas took a 2-0 lead in the first 1:49 when Robertson and Joel L’Esperance combined for the fastest two goals for the Stars since they moved from Minnesota in 1993.
Robertson gave Dallas a 1-0 lead at 1:00 with a wrist shot from the slot after a turnover in the Florida zone. L’Esperance made it 2-0 at 1:49 when he redirected Jason Dowling’s pass on a 2-on-1 after a turnover in the neutral zone.
Jamie Benn made it 3-0 with a power-play goal at 9:03 after taking a pass from Pavelski.
Barkov made it 3-1 with 1.5 seconds left in the second period with a power-play goal when he put home a rebound after Patric Hornqvist‘s wrap-around attempt.
Robertson made 4-1 at 1:21 of the third period with a wrist shot through traffic from the high slot. It is the first multigoal game in the NHL. for the rookie forward.
During the game, the Panthers announced the acquisition of defenseman Brandon Montour in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres for a third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.
