Petersen helps Kings win sixth straight with sweep of Blues

ST. LOUIS — Calvin Petersen made 35 saves to help the Los Angeles Kings to their sixth straight win, 2-1 against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Wednesday.

Alex Iafallo and Andreas Athanasiou each scored for the Kings (9-6-3), who have outscored their opponents 22-7 during the streak.

The Kings have the longest active winning streak in the NHL and tied the Tampa Bay Lightning (Jan. 30-Feb. 9) for the longest this season.

Oskar Sundqvist scored, and Jordan Binnington made 19 saves for the Blues (10-8-2), who have lost three in a row. 

Los Angeles won here 3-0 on Monday behind Jonathan Quick‘s 31-save shutout in the first of the two-game set.

Iafallo gave the Kings a 1-0 lead at 10:24 of the second period, collecting a rebound of a Dustin Brown shot in the slot and sending it over Binnington.

Athanasiou made it 2-0 at 16:08.

Sundqvist scored at 18:14 of the third period from the slot on a rebound for the 2-1 final.

Kings defenseman Mikey Anderson was a late scratch due to a lower-body injury and is day to day.
