Swing and a… goal!
Jean-Gabriel Pageau whacked home a redirected shot from midair for the game-winning goal in the New York Islanders 1-0 win against the Boston Bruins on Monday.
Pageau had been held scoreless through New York’s first two games but smashed Adam Pelech‘s initial shot that had been tipped by Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron past goalie Tuukka Rask, putting the Islanders up at 15:51 of the third.
Pageau still has a few weeks to field offers if there are baseball teams interested in turning him a two-sport star.
The goal helped New York snap a 140:57 scoreless drought and improve to 2-1 on the season.
