Marco Rossi returned home to Austria on Saturday to “rest with his family due to complications” from COVID-19.

There is no timetable for his return.

The 19-year-old forward prospect captained Austria in the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship and went into quarantine with the intent to join Minnesota’s training camp. It was announced on Jan. 10 that Rossi would be out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.

Selected No. 9 by the Wild in the 2020 NHL Draft, Rossi signed a three-year, entry-level contract on Oct. 23. He scored 120 points (39 goals, 81 assists) in 56 games for Ottawa in the Ontario Hockey League last season. — Jessi Pierce
