Muzzin leaves Game 2 for Maple Leafs on stretcher


Jake Muzzin was taken from the ice on a stretcher with 1:52 remaining in the third period of Game 2 between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets at Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday.

The Maple Leafs defenseman fell chest-first onto the skate of Blue Jackets forward Oliver Bjorkstrand to the right behind the Toronto goal.

Muzzin was down for more than 10 minutes lying on his back before being immobilized and taken from the ice.

The Maple Leafs were leading 2-0. They won 3-0 to even the best-of-5 Stanley Cup Qualifier series.

The Blue Jackets won Game 1 2-0 on Sunday in Toronto, the Eastern Conference hub city.
