Brendan Lemieux agreed to a contract with the New York Rangers on Friday. No terms were announced.
The 24-year-old forward was a restricted free agent who was scheduled to have an arbitration hearing Friday.
Lemieux scored an NHL career-high 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 59 games with the Rangers last season and no points in one game during New York’s loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Qualifiers.
Selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round (No. 31) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Lemieux has 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists) in 131 regular-season games with the Jets and Rangers, who acquired him in a trade on Feb. 25, 2019.
