ST. LOUIS — Torey Krug scored his first goal with the St. Louis Blues in a 4-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Enterprise Center on Saturday.
David Perron had a goal and an assist, Ryan O’Reilly and Robert Thomas each had had two assists and Jordan Binnington made 21 saves for St. Louis (3-1-1).
Adrian Kempe scored in his third straight game, and Calvin Petersen made 26 saves for the Kings (1-2-2) in their road opener.
The Blues and Kings play again here on Sunday (8 p.m. ET; FS-MW, FS-W, NHL.TV).
Krug signed a seven-year, $45.5 million contract with the Blues Oct. 9 after playing nine seasons with the Boston Bruins. He gave the Blues a 1-0 lead on a slap shot from the point at 13:12 of the first period, the first power-play goal of the season for St. Louis after starting 0-for-14.
Kempe scored 57 seconds into the second period on a one-timer to tie it 1-1.
Vince Dunn gave the Blues a 2-1 lead with a wrist shot from the high slot at 2:53 of the second.
Perron made it 3-1 at 7:25 of the second period with a wrist shot from the slot after taking a behind-the-back pass from Thomas.
Dustin Brown scored during a 5-on-3 man-advantage and cut the lead to 3-2 at 16:29 of the second.
Jaden Schwartz scored an empty-net goal at 19:58 of the third for the 4-2 final.
