COLUMBUS — Patrick Kane scored his 399th NHL goal to break a third-period tie, and Malcolm Subban made 26 saves for the Chicago Blackhawks in a 2-0 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Thursday.
Kane scored his 10th goal of the season at 8:45 to give the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead.
Chicago (11-6-4) swept two games here after winning 6-5 in a shootout Tuesday.
Subban got his first shutout with Chicago after one with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019. He played his 71st NHL game.
Joonas Korpisalo made 25 saves for Columbus (8-8-5).
Kane gathered the puck at the attacking blue line and skated to the right circle before using a snap shot for his third goal in as many games. He needs one goal to become the 100th NHL player to score 400.
Carl Soderberg scored into an empty net at 19:10 for the 2-0 final.
