SUNRISE, Fla. — Patric Hornqvist had a goal and an assist for the Florida Panthers in a 2-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings at BB&T Center on Tuesday.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves, and Alex Wennberg scored for the Panthers (7-1-2), who salvaged a split of a two-game set. Jonathan Huberdeau had two assists.
Hornqvist gave Florida a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal at 8:04 of the second period when Aaron Ekblad‘s shot from the point bounced off his chest. It was Hornqvist’s sixth goal of the season and the Panthers’ only power play.
Filip Zadina scored for the Red Wings (3-9-2), who lost eight in a row before a 4-1 victory here on Sunday. Thomas Greiss made 20 saves.
Detroit took a 1-0 lead at 3:31 of the first period when Zadina scored from the left circle.
Wennberg tied it 1-1 with his second goal in two games on a redirection of Huberdeau’s pass at 15:54 of the first.
The Red Wings outshot the Panthers 13-3 in the third period.
