Golden Knights stifle Coyotes, sweep two-game set


LAS VEGAS — Marc-Andre Fleury moved into a tie for fourth place in wins in NHL history when the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Arizona Coyotes 1-0 at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday.

Fleury, who made 14 saves, tied Ed Belfour with his 484th win, which is five behind Roberto Luongo for third. Fleury also tied Patrick Roy for 15th in League history with his 66th shutout.

Tomas Nosek scored the lone goal for the Golden Knights (27-11-2), who swept the two-game set and have won three of their past four.

The Coyotes (19-18-5) lost their third consecutive game after winning six of their previous seven. Adin Hill made 28 saves in his 10th consecutive start.

Nosek gave Vegas a 1-0 lead at 10:38 of the third period. Jakob Chychrun turned the puck over in Arizona’s zone to Jonathan Marchessault, who found Nosek for a shot from the right circle.
