Gibson, Ducks shut out Wild for first win of season

ANAHEIMJohn Gibson made 34 saves for the Anaheim Ducks in a 1-0 win against the Minnesota Wild at Honda Center on Monday.

It was Gibson’s 20th shutout in the NHL.

Nicolas Deslauriers scored in the third period for the Ducks (1-1-1) in their first game at home since March 11.

Cam Talbot made 26 saves for the Wild (2-1-0), who went 0-for-5 on the power play and are 0-for-16 this season. The Wild won their first two games of the season against the Los Angeles Kings, each in overtime.

Deslauriers scored off a centering pass from defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk on a 3-on-2 break for a 1-0 lead at 4:09 of the third period.
