Foligno signs three-year, $9.3 million contract extension with Wild


Marcus Foligno signed a three-year, $9.3 million contract extension with the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. It has an average annual value of $3.1 million. 

The 29-year old forward scored an NHL career-high 25 points (11 goals, 14) assists in 59 games last season. He could have been an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Foligno, who was traded to the Wild by the Buffalo Sabres on June 30, 2017, has scored 67 points (26 goals, 41 assists) in 218 games during three seasons with Minnesota.

Selected by Buffalo in the fourth round (No. 104) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Foligno has scored 183 points (75 goals, 108 assists) in 565 regular-season games and two points (one goal, one assist) in nine Stanley Cup Playoff games.
