Vegas Golden Knights forward William Carrier scored his first postseason goal on Monday, so it’s a shame he didn’t see it.
After all, how could he have?
Carrier scored a no-look, between-the-legs, rebound goal to give the Golden Knights the lead for good in a 5-3 win against the Dallas Stars in a Round Robin game.
The play started with defenseman Nate Schmidt‘s shot from the point missing the net and hitting the boards. The puck slid out to the right as Carrier was moving left to right in front of the net.
Stars goalie Ben Bishop lost his stick on the play and was trying to recover but Carrier, with an open net and little time, perfectly corraled the puck and backhanded it through his legs and into the net for a spectacular goal.
If there were Golden Knights fans in the stands, Carrier’s goal would have brought them out of their seats. Instead, he’ll have to settle for bringing them off their couches.
