Braun signs two-year, $3.6 million contract to stay with Flyers


Justin Braun signed a two-year $3.6 million contract ($1.8 million average annual value) with the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.

The 33-year-old defenseman could have been an unrestricted free agent Oct. 9. He scored 19 points (three goals, 16 assists) in 62 games with the Flyers this season and had two assists in 16 postseason games.

Selected by the San Jose Sharks in the seventh round (No. 201) of the 2007 NHL Draft, Braun has 173 points (27 goals, 146 assists) in 669 regular-season games and 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 100 playoff games.
