Jordan Binnington is the starting goalie for the St. Louis Blues in Game 6 of the Western Conference First Round against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Friday (NBCSN, CBC, SN, FS-MW).
Binnington replaced Jake Allen, who started the previous three games after Binnington started and lost the first two of the series.
The Blues, the defending Stanley Cup champions, would be eliminated with a loss. The Canucks lead the best-of-7 series after winning Game 5 4-3 on Wednesday in Edmonton, the West hub city.
Binnington allowed nine goals on 47 shots in Games 1 and 2. Allen won Games 3 and 4, allowing three goals on 64 shots, before he allowed four goals on 30 shots in Game 5.
Binnington is 0-4-0 with a 4.27 goals-against average and an .862 save percentage this postseason. He allowed 15 goals on 85 shots in his past three starts (.824).
Binnington helped the Blues win their first Stanley Cup championship last season, going 16-10 with a 2.46 GAA and .914 save percentage in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He was 3-0 with a .965 save percentage (three goals on 86 shots) when the Blues faced elimination.
